Based near Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter station, this was a recent shoot for the new neighbourhood regeneration project of apartment and must-have amenities with London’s creative marketing agency, Identity Design.

Spacelabs Healthcare

Another company that recently approached us for a promotional shoot and filming on how to apply their ECG equipment was Spacelabs. They have over 60 years of experience in helping care teams across the globe, and how to deal with patients who are in critical, sub-acute and perioperative stages of their health journey. Our male model Gary was selected to step in for their marketing campaign in Hertford. We’ll fill you in once the finals have been completed. Say it With Diamonds

This gem of a company has come to us several times over the past few years to re-establish its strong connection with our team. Most recently, Zuri, her mum and grandmother were the modelling three-generation sensations booked for the jewellery company’s 2024 Mother’s Day campaign. Booked on 6th February, their work will be coming to a digital screen near you!

We at Models Direct do understand that emergency situations crop up all the time – perhaps you become too unwell to attend or possibly a serious family situation occurs unexpectedly…

But accepting a modelling assignment is essentially undertaking an agreement of trust, between you as the model, us as the agency and the client as, well, the client..

The later you tell us that you can’t attend a job, the harder it is for us to find someone else who is suitable for the job – and the higher the likelihood that our client may be let down.

Models Direct is a highly reputable, long-standing business of over 30 years.

As such we have developed strong and lasting relationships with many big name and lesser known clients.

They rely on us to deliver the kinds of models they need and, as a genuine, professional organisation with a solid reputation, we will always do our utmost to do so.

But, at the end of the day, we also rely on you – the model – to support us in that.

We ask that you give us and our client every consideration in letting us know as soon as possible if something urgent prevents you from fulfilling a booking.

That way we have more chance of finding someone else who matches requirements and has the availability to attend.

We do also understand that on occasion models think more carefully about a job and decide that perhaps the assignment – or even modelling itself – isn’t right for them.

Again, we do understand but please tell us the moment you start getting cold feet.

When your personal contact at Models Direct calls you to explain about an assignment, you will have every opportunity to ask them questions and find out more.

Please also don’t feel any obligation to accept – we fully understand there may be reasons that a particular job won’t work for you.

Perhaps the timing, the location or even just the job itself are not right for you.

And please do call them back if you accept but later have any questions or start feeling anxious.

Your contact will talk more to you about the assignment and discuss with you whether you still want to accept it.

After all, do remember that we will have shortlisted other suitable candidates along with you.

However, the sooner you tell us, the sooner we can approach one of them.

As a fully government-registered, vetted and accredited employment agency, our job is to seek out work for our models.

We do our absolute best for our models and we therefore ask them to do their absolute best for us – and telling us about any problems as soon as they crop up is part of that.

How do I get paid from a booking? https://www.modelsdirect.org.uk/how-do-i-get-paid-from-a-booking/ Sat, 16 Dec 2023 11:15:00 +0000 https://www.modelsdirect.org.uk/?p=3140 The jobs where employees get paid within 5 days since completion of their work are in the minority.    

We know that happy models make successful models. That means keeping them informed with any last-minute changes to their bookings (which is rare), and making sure they’re prepared with everything they need before and during their assignments. We also read and respond to all their reviews, and take pride in learning about their enjoyable experiences after their modelling work. Without happy models, we wouldn’t be at the forefront of the commercial modelling industry.

Whilst some models don’t accept work purely for money, it’s equally important to pay all our models fairly and promptly. It’s irrelevant whether the work is a part-time hobby for some, or whether they want to be put forward for as much work as possible to gain more experience on the rungs on the modelling ladder. Either way, every model gets paid within 5 working days from completion of their assignment.

Why don’t we issue payment at the end of the month? It’s quite simple, and the process has worked for over 30 years. We ask for payment by our clients before the assignment takes place. We take this “advance” so we can guarantee quick payment to our models. By obtaining our client’s payment, in effect we have already secured a model’s fee before a model has started their assignment. Then, all it takes is for us to pay a model swiftly for the great work they’ve done. There are no obstacles, and no chasing clients. It’s a fool-proof system that suits us, our models and our clients.

Our portfolio of models – from toddlers to mature individuals and pets – is vast, and our client list represents multinational corporations and smaller enterprises. We treat all models and all clients similarly. It would be unfair to deny a model our promised payment just because paperwork got lost in a company’s office, or if a smaller client couldn’t afford payment until they got paid by a customer. An up-front payment eliminates any inconveniences or embarrassment.  

We’ve all heard horror stories of photographers and agencies promising payment, only to dupe models by refusing to pay – probably because they never had a model’s fee in the first instance. We’ve been fighting this for years.

It’s our responsibility to pay models on time, and to obtain the best fees going. Clients know we can provide the models they need from all over the UK. They trust us to help their campaigns by recommending real people with the talent to make their marketing campaigns appeal to the right audience. It’s one of the reasons why they appreciate prior payment is necessary.

Our models look forward to working with us, as we do giving them their fees. As an industry leader, we wouldn’t have it any other way.
