male model – Models Direct https://www.modelsdirect.org.uk Models Direct modelling agency has been bringing models and clients together since 1990. Welcome to the Models Direct business blog. Not a fact, but it’s probably not far from the truth.

Commercial modelling is easily one of the most achievable pursuits for all – adults and children alike. Experience is not required, and the opportunities are huge. We receive many requests for models throughout the UK, with males in the 18 – 80 year old bracket a key part of our business.

A lot of males think that fashion modelling is their perfect job, but it takes enormous dedication and a large slice of luck to achieve the heights enjoyed by only a handful of models. Plus, knowing the right people always helps, which puts many individuals at a disadvantage straightaway.

There are plenty more opportunities for talented men in a number of other sectors. Most TV adverts and catalogues which feature models are commercial models, each with their individual looks and skills, and each posing as real-life people to appeal to the general public. This is the essence of commercial modelling: gaining the attention of the wider population to get their products or message across. And that’s why commercial modelling is a realistic chance for anyone to do well on the set of a professional shoot or film.

Experience is not necessary. What is necessary if models want to work with the largest brands is giving themselves the very best chance of being seen. This is where we come in; by joining us we’ll put models forward to our clients whenever their looks are asked for. Think of us as a professional filter, minimising the chances of models being left on the slush pile, never to be seen by those who make the final decision – the clients.

Male modelling is pretty competitive. That’s because so many companies know that real people in their marketing strategies make for the most effective campaigns. No frills, no substitutes. It’s another reason brands come to us in the first instance; we respond to all modelling requests in a timely manner, showcasing the best selection of commercial models anywhere in the UK. We haven’t let any client down so far, and we intend to keep our solid relationships going.

Modelling is fun and can be partaken part-time – almost on an ad-hoc basis. If we contact a model with the news a client has chosen them for a particular assignment, the model may decline the offer for whatever reason – no pressure, and no prejudice. We’ll just try equally as hard to secure another assignment for that model. Many of our male models are perfectly happy to take part in a few jobs, whilst others prefer to use us as a stepping stone to a bigger career. Either way, we have the most experience and contacts to place models with some of the biggest names around. It’s been that way for a number of years, with Models Direct soaring to the top of modelling agencies. We attract big names, and it’s our responsibility to keep it that way.

We welcome any male model to get in touch with us, and we encourage them to explore our website for any additional information.

We look forward to welcoming you into our modelling fold.

Male models of all ages needed https://www.modelsdirect.org.uk/male-models-of-all-ages-needed/ Fri, 19 Jan 2024 09:01:00 +0000 https://www.modelsdirect.org.uk/?p=3277 We’ve been placing thousands of talented male models with our clients for many years. It’s one of our fortes, and we show no signs of slowing down. When clients approach us looking for the best male commercial modelling in the UK, they come directly to us. We can provide clients with a list of ideal models from which they can pick from, so they know we’re the most reliable service in the country. Efficient, easy, quick and dependable – our clients have relied on us for more than 32 years.

If there’s one obstacle we occasionally need to overcome, it’s that sometimes we need even more male models to cope with the demand. It’s a nice problem to have. But that just means there’s even more opportunity for new models.

Our diverse range of clients don’t have to work with us; they could source their models themselves. But as a government-regulated employment agency, we’re the first step in finding them the models they need in a timely fashion.

Male models represent an important part of our business. They’re crucial to endless modelling campaigns, each with a separate point to get across to their target audience. Therefore it’s just as important that we represent male models of all ages right through to 90 year olds.

For more mature male models, clients such as insurance companies and retirement homes are particularly relevant. They regularly approach us with briefs, seeking older commercial models to engage with current customers. A notable example is Abbeyfield retirement village – with a growing collection of homes, their target audience is thousands of older individuals. They rely on us to present them with a number of talented older models, which is something we can do in a matter of hours. No fuss, all delivered by our efficient team.

Yardforce is an internationally-recognised brand making garden equipment and power tools. Though their devices are used by everyone around the world, they asked us to provide a male model in his prime to illustrate the brand’s versatility. They chose Neil, who rocked the assignment with safety goggles and a chequered shirt: standard garb for garden work.

Without an impressive inventory of models, we wouldn’t be successful. Also, our clients would question if we could provide them when they need them. We’ve always gone beyond our expectations to deliver the right models to our clients; it’s what we do on a daily basis and we’ll continue to do so.

We’re calling for more male models of any age to satisfy the growing amount of client briefs we receive. It works out for everyone involved. Brands can expand by shooting more marketing material; more models can taste success working with professionals in all parts of the UK; and we’re constantly fulfilling our obligation to put the right models with the right people.

Whether you fancy yourself as a fashion model, plus-size model, or as a sport model, apply with us and you could look forward to adding your modelling evaluation to our 5 star male model reviews.

With our clients constantly on the search for outstanding male models, there’s no better time to do it.

Your Teeth and Braces https://www.modelsdirect.org.uk/your-teeth-and-braces/ Tue, 26 Sep 2023 07:44:00 +0000 https://www.modelsdirect.org.uk/?p=2895 Teeth are breaking headlines (not themselves literally, mind you), and we’re wanting them straighter, whiter and brighter. According to the British Orthodontic Society, around 200,000 adults and teens get orthodontic treatment every year so braces are very much having a major moment. If you’re a wearer, you’re definitely not alone!

Models Direct checked out who’s been in the orthodontist’s chair and interestingly a good few famous faces popped up with their shiny brackets and wires – Kylie Jenner, Tom Cruise, Christiano Ronaldo, Emma Watson and Gwen Stefani to name but a few.

Braces can help fix major dental problems such as overcrowding of teeth and correcting a misaligned bite. Aesthetically, they become part of who you are for the duration you house them. Once they’re off, it can feel pretty weird – as though something is bare and missing.

If you’re a model you can showcase them as part of your look. Our specialised category that focuses on models’ unique features and characteristics can have you and your braces beaming with your gorgeous smile accompanied by the shiny stuff. Chances are, you might be selected by a dental company to promote their products and services! So now we swiftly move on to how to brush your teeth with braces because let’s face it, for those who have worn them (hands up anyone?), it’s a tricky business. It doesn’t mean it can’t be done but it does mean it’ll take time.

Whether you have fixed or removable braces, the key is being consistent and extremely thorough. Always follow the advice of your orthodontist, dentist and hygienist about your oral care with braces because it makes it a little bit more hard work. Every time you eat, food particles may snuggle into and around your braces which could cause tooth discolouration, plaque and decay. With all the possible issues you may be dealing with your braces (i.e. tightening the wire, brackets rubbing against your mouth, mouth ulcers), don’t neglect supervision.

The best method of brushing with braces

Food loves to sit within the nooks and crannies of your teeth at the best of times. What about when you have braces? Food particles find their way into more difficult-to-reach spaces, in, and around your brackets and wires. We know it’s a pain but once you get the hang of a good oral regime, you’ll be well on your way to pearly whites, with and eventually without braces.

First things first, rinse your mouth with water to help loosen up food that might be wedged in your teeth and around your braces. Getting rid of larger debris makes cleaning a little easier to tackle.

Next, invest in a brush that is suitable for braces so you can begin your scrubbing.
Place your toothbrush on top of the brackets, angling down to brush each upper bracket at a 45-degree angle.

Then focus on the lower teeth, and angle your toothbrush upwards at a 45-degree angle and brush.
Don’t forget to brush above and below the brackets taking care to brush along the gumline to help keep plaque at bay.

Water floss like a boss

This handy device makes flossing super easy as the stream of water has the magic to reach all parts of your mouth. You just move it along your gumline, the top and base of your teeth, and in between each tooth making sure you focus a couple of seconds on each one both from the outside and the inside of your teeth. (I have one myself I cannot live without!) They aren’t expensive either and remove food debris, plaque and bacteria in tight spaces.

Don’t forget to use a good mouthwash too, and remember to brush after every meal. Yes, we know! It’s a lot of effort but trust us, it’ll be worth it in the long run!

Psssst, don’t forget to see your dentist twice a year for a regular check-up and hygienist for a clean.
Embrace your braces, they’re a part of how you look so why not take care of them and your teeth, and enjoy the dazzle and extra dimension they add to your look? After all, they’ll only be there for a few years and hopefully, before you know it, they’ll be off and your smile can really shine!

Fitness Modelling: Jump Into Modelling https://www.modelsdirect.org.uk/fitness-modelling-jump-into-modelling/ Sun, 09 Apr 2023 05:43:00 +0000 https://www.modelsdirect.org.uk/?p=2713 If you love exercising, this blog is for you!

Models Direct are taking it up a notch and reminding anyone interested in our modelling agency that our fitness modelling division is open to new talent. We’re always on the lookout for models as we continue to open the platform to anyone interested in taking up a new part-time career.

Sportswear has infiltrated into our casualwear as fashion trends are continually introducing new looks, evolving or reemerging. Throughout our lockdown plenty of us opted for loungewear because that’s how it flowed. We were mainly at home – working, studying, learning new skills or simply binge watching on Netflix to pass the time.

Some of us worked out at home or immersed ourselves into regular recreational activities, perhaps purchasing home gym equipment and accessories positively impacting the sportswear industry. We might have opted for more sports based apparel which has proved to be just as comfy as loungewear.

Popular platforms such as YouTube, where the likes of Joe Wicks and channels such as MadFit and Fitness Blender, really thrived with people looking to keep fit and healthy in their homes during the lockdown. This was a great driving force encouraging self-care and self-love especially during a time of great uncertainty.

Now that we’re out and about, living life many of us are feeling better within ourselves and looking great on the outside and inside. If you’re someone who has never thought about what life would be as a fitness model, well, you can begin your journey with us. Our modelling savvy, friendly and down-to-earth team are available to help you apply and see you through the process thereafter, step-by-step.

We aim to be an inclusive modelling agency where difference is celebrated and respected. Models Direct believe that diversity, different perspectives, and backgrounds leads to our industry in the right direction allowing it to flourish.

If you want to model in this division, it isn’t necessary for you to have a six pack or ripped muscles. All you’ll need is bags of enthusiasm, confidence, drive and a love for fitness. Show us your best poses, share them with your online application (which is free) and grab opportunities just the same as you would get your yoga mat or dumbbells.

If you’re ready for the next step, put on your Fitbit and get ready for an adventurously sporty ride with Models Direct. On your marks, get set, apply!

Lifestyle modelling – who can do it? https://www.modelsdirect.org.uk/lifestyle-modelling-who-can-do-it/ Mon, 27 Mar 2023 13:11:05 +0000 https://www.modelsdirect.org.uk/?p=2647 Let’s take three people with one thing in common.

1. Susan is 67 years old and is a retired teacher. She is active and has many hobbies, but she’s been looking for something extra to occupy just two days per month. She thought about becoming a model, and just “went for it”. After sending in her photo and filling out an application form, her extra couple of days were filled by exciting monthly modelling assignments.

2. Matthew is in his thirties and has always been a “go-getter”, as well as eager to try new things. He wanted a new direction – something to add to his CV and impress his friends. He tried modelling once, and now regularly stars in modelling shoots in and around his home town (he’s quite a local celebrity).

3. 13-year-old Megan mentioned to her mum and dad that she might enjoy modelling. After her parents looked into the modelling process, they were happy that they’d be able to grant their daughter’s wishes, and before long, Megan was starring in various campaigns.

…and the one common denominator? They are all “ordinary” people living the dream as models – specifically, lifestyle models.

Lifestyle models are not easily identified among the general populace. They don’t have any stereotypical features some people think of as models – not that many models should be recognised away from the cameras. A lifestyle model could be your next-door neighbour, or the friendly assistant in your local store. They could serve your favourite drink at your local bar, or they could even be your local bus driver. Though we don’t advocate randomly approaching people to ask them if they are lifestyle models (you’ll probably be given strange looks or asked in the future to remain within 100 yards of them by law!), the fact is that anybody at all can be lifestyle models. So, the answer to “who can do it?” is easy to answer: you, your friends, your parents and other relatives, teachers, retirees…the list is endless, because genuinely anyone can be a lifestyle model.

There are an infinite number of products and causes that require everyday people to get their message across to everyday people. What better to appeal to the general public than to ask a member of the public to help with the promotion?

Examples of lifestyle modelling are as varied as the individuals acting as lifestyle models. Some standout examples are as follows:

  • Appearing as the face of NHS campaigns in hospitals
  • Starring in local council campaigns
  • Posing as shoppers at a designer retail outlet
  • Group bookings for an online wine promotional video
  • A hungry family tucking into the nation’s most popular pies

Young or old, male or female, experienced in modelling or new to the industry…lifestyle modelling provides an opportunity to anyone with the desire and ambition to become a model. Get in touch with us so we can see what you have to offer to the wonderful world of lifestyle modelling!

Plus Size Modelling https://www.modelsdirect.org.uk/plus-size-modelling-2/ Fri, 24 Feb 2023 08:30:00 +0000 https://www.modelsdirect.org.uk/?p=2491 Hello hello, we’re glad you’re reading this page! Models Direct is hoping that you didn’t just accidentally stumble across this page with no vision of finding out more about plus size modelling. With that being said, sometimes accidental discoveries can be the most life-changing. If your research is intentional and you’re eager to learn more, please continue scrolling.

Models Direct is all about embracing everyone. We work on not just making waves but tsunamis in our modelling world because the fact is, we want to make a positive long lasting difference.

We come in all shapes and sizes from different parts of the world, with different cultures, traditions, and languages. We don’t fit into a one-size-fits-all category, we’re unique and fascinating. Why should the modelling industry constrict beautiful characteristics and features so that models conform? This is where we want to inject that positivity and change.

Models Direct is extremely proud that we have been part of breaking the modelling barriers since we first set up our agency thirty years back. Plus size modelling is a tremendous asset to our business and we’ve been part of the revolutionary even before it was a thing.

As part of our FAQ hub we are presenting four of the most common questions we are often asked revolving this niche. We hope that you find this helpful, and if you have any further questions, our MD team are always happy to answer. Let’s go!

How do you get to be a plus size model?

If you’re interested in entering this industry, it doesn’t have to be a challenge or out of your league. You’ll need a reputable agency who can support your vision, goals and aspirations. Who can you turn to? Models Direct, that’s who! We’re here and we can help you break into the industry no matter what your age is, your size, and even your level of experience.

How much do plus size models make?

Great question! Plus size models can earn a good amount of money depending on who they are working with, the duration and the location of the project. Some assignments might mean a couple of hours worth of work for under £100 whilst others could mean a large sum of money going into the thousands! Head on over to our page which displays how much our Models Direct models have earned to see for yourself.

Is it hard to be a plus size model?

With everything in life, you have to work hard to achieve a goal. In this case, if your goal is to be a plus size model then you have to invest time in creating your portfolio and following up with assignments. If you’re with the right agency that values you and wants to put you forward whenever a client requests for your look, then this reduces the level of difficulty in becoming a successful model of this growing niche.

Can you be a model if you’re overweight?

This question was one we contemplated on whether to include in our list of FAQs but because it’s been asked so so many times, we only think it’s right to answer it.

Having a plus size division in the modelling industry means that people of all shapes and sizes are being embraced for who they are and not what they should look like. If your dress size is above 14 then you’ll fall within this niche where you’ll find work because clients are frequently calling for fuller, voluptuous models. Times have changed and clients are following the trends and where the movement of ideas and thoughts are flowing. We’re not leaving plus size modelling behind, we’re pushing it forward so if you’re interested in joining us, reach out and we’ll connect with you.

How do I get into male modelling?

All the spectrums of modelling have a similar approach of entrance. If you want to be represented by an agency who will actively help connect you to clients and find work that suits your look, then you’ll have to do some background company research first. If you’ve found the agency that has your name on it, the one that’ll put you forward for assignments whenever a client calls for your look, (and won’t just stick your profile images up on their social platforms like a showcase agency), then you’ve found the right one. Oh, and no requests for a registration fee either as that’s not how it should be done! Climb onboard and enter the wonderful world of male modelling with the right agency behind you.

Who is the most famous male model?

There are a great number of male models out their on the centre stage. Just picking out one would be unfair as we base our ethos on demonstrating a fair representations of everyone. But as you’ve asked us, we’ll give you a roundup of some of the most famous male models out there because we don’t have enough space to fit everyone! We wish we did though…here goes!

Tyson Beckford, Sang Woo Kim, Xu Meen, David Gandy, Sean O’Pry, Alton Mason, Noah Mills, Brad Kroenig, Marlon Teixeira, Hu Bing, Zach Miko, Alpha Dia, Issac Carew, Cameron Dallas, Alex Lundqvist, Ottawa Kwami, Adonis Bosso, Anwar Hadid, Broderick Hunter, Wisdom Kaye, and David Chiang!

Who is the highest paid male model 2022?

According to a very recent article in Forbes published on the 29th of September this year, David Gandy is the world’s highest paid male model of 2022! He has been in the industry for more than 21 years and he’s still a force to be reckoned with.

What is the work of a male model?

Working as a male model can vary significantly from project to project. Some work might be promoting a product or service on the streets of London outside a fashion chain store, or a photo shoot for Father’s Day with a giant British food retailer, being part of a 63 modelling squad for a pub giant or for photoshoots overseas!

We hope that you’ve found this information useful. If you want to rewrite the script of your life, get in touch with Models Direct and explore male modelling.

Diverse modelling – why is there such a big demand? https://www.modelsdirect.org.uk/diverse-modelling-why-is-there-such-a-big-demand/ Mon, 11 Jul 2022 09:18:00 +0000 https://www.modelsdirect.org.uk/?p=2037 In 2019, Sports Illustrated ripped up the manual and broke barriers with a very simple action: they featured model Halima Aden in their swimsuit issue, making the Somali / Kenyan model the very first to grace the famous magazine’s pages wearing the traditional Muslim hijab and a burkini.

Whilst Ms Aden isn’t classed as a commercial model, her appearance in a magazine with a 1.5 million+ circulation demonstrates an obvious shift in perception – and not just in the modelling industry.

The world is constantly changing, even if it’s by small, subtle modifications. Diversity is no longer concerned with age or gender. It’s all-encompassing, and looks to raise consciousness through media promotion. The whole point of diversity is to recognize the talents of everyone#, and to represent those who have something to give back to the industry. Diversity enhances the world, as it represents everyone. In short, no one should be excluded if what they can bring to the collective modelling table is effective and relevant.

The word “normal” is a spurious one, so many people prefer the term “traditional”. When “traditional” models in the 1980s and ‘90s were largely pigeon-holed and, to some extent, glorified, the 21st century realised that the demand for a greater diversity was not only beneficial – it was necessary.

Diversity can be seen in people living with disabilities, those from varied ethnic backgrounds, and people in same sex marriages. Also added to the list are people with any features that “break the norm”, be it tattoos, disfigurements, or piercings.

It’s beyond doubt that diverse models have been propelled into the limelight of late, and with good reason. The concept of tailoring campaigns and products to a wider ranging audience has been seized upon by companies worldwide, and with it the demand for diverse models has intensified. Nowadays, eyelids won’t bat when a wheelchair user is published in photo shoots. It’s natural and pertinent. A female model with head tattoos may well have been shunned a couple of decades ago, but guess what? Not anymore!

So, with the industry changing to increase inclusivity in this fast-paced progressive world, can top modelling agencies fulfil the requirements of their clients? We can’t speak for other agencies, although we know that we’ve represented hundreds of diversity models in a range of appealing assignments all around the world.

This fact alludes to an important point: diversity models are essential for our clients. They are needed, because in most cases advertising campaigns won’t have the same impact without them. Whether it’s a straightforward consumer ad (selling a product) or a campaign to get a point across, diverse models have the qualities our clients are looking for.

And more good news: diverse modelling is not a short-term trend to tick a few boxes. On the contrary – it’s here to stay, and we look forward to hearing from even more diverse models.

You don’t have to be the next Halima Aden to succeed as a diverse model in the commercial modelling industry. Apply with us, and we’ll have a look at what you can offer us and our clients.

What could I be eating this summer? https://www.modelsdirect.org.uk/what-could-i-be-eating-this-summer/ Wed, 29 Jun 2022 09:14:00 +0000 https://www.modelsdirect.org.uk/?p=2034 Summer has arrived and with a bit of luck we should have some glorious warm weather stretching ahead of us. We want our models to feel as healthy as possible and feeling healthy helps us look great!

So, what are our Top 5 best foods to eat when the weather is hot?

1. Try to incorporate hydrating foods into your diet during the summer months. We all know how important it is to drink when the weather is warm and eating hydrating foods can help. Cucumber is great because it contains so much water. Try adding it to your sandwiches and salads and have a go at making different dishes with it, such as tzatziki or even cucumber soup – or just slice a wedge up and nibble on throughout the day. Watermelon is also great for hydrating and for giving you vitamins A, B6 and C, as well as lycopene, an antioxidant that might help prevent or slow damage to the cells.

2. One or two oranges a day can be a great addition to the summer diet. They are really easy to pop in your bag and to eat if you make a small hole in the top and suck out all the juice before opening them up. If you are at home and can manage the stickiness, then slice them up and pop them in your glass every time you have some water. It makes for a nice sweet treat at the end of your drink. Most of us know that oranges are also rich in vitamin C, which has a range of health benefits, including protecting the immune system. They also have potassium in them which may help ward off cramp, which can occur when you lose salt through sweating.

3. Summer fruit: strawberries, raspberries and blueberries are among the fabulous summer fruit options that bring enormous health benefits – but again don’t overdo it or you might upset your stomach. Try putting a handful of berries on your morning cereal or in a bowl of natural yoghurt – or make a delicious, cool smoothie to take with you when you go out or to enjoy at home. Among the many benefits of eating summer berries are the fact they are anti-oxidant rich and contain vitamin C and fibre. Raspberries are also a great source of vitamin K, which helps build strong bones and assists in blood clotting.

4. Fresh fish can be a superb addition to any summer diet and is often available in abundance when we head off on our holidays to sunnier climes. It is a great addition to a summer salad when we don’t feel like eating a heavy meal during warm weather or can be accompanied by delicious summer new potatoes and fresh, leafy greens. Try salmon, mackerel and sardines for protein and omega-3 fatty acids that can help with blood pressure, inflammation and long-term health issues such as heart disease. Mussels, oysters, squid and crab can also be good sources of omega-3.

5. Salads are the perfect summer food as they can be the ideal light option for a hot day as they contain lots of hydrating vegetables such as cucumber, radish, lettuce and tomato. Try to make a rainbow salad that incorporates a spectrum of colours. That way you can be sure you are giving your body a good range of nutrients. Make sure you add some protein too – try fish, chicken or boiled egg, or for vegans, a handful of nuts or some tofu. Include leafy greens for their vitamins A, C and beta-carotene, which bring a range of health benefits, including ensuring healthy organs. Try to include some spinach, kale and romaine leaves, which are among the most nutritious. Salads are also rich in fibre, which can help aid our digestion in the summer months when we may not always drink as much as we should. They can help us feel light and energised, when a heavier meal may well bring lethargy and fatigue when the weather is hot. For those trying to lose weight healthily, salads can be a low calorie yet nutrient rich option but do make sure your salad is well balanced and part of a daily diet that offers you all the energy you need. And, finally, salads can be fun – experiment with different ingredients: include some fruit if you wish and take satisfaction in sitting down to a glorious plate of colour that really does bring you some summer joy!

Spring Trends for Men https://www.modelsdirect.org.uk/spring-trends-for-men/ Sun, 28 Mar 2021 16:09:45 +0000 https://www.modelsdirect.org.uk/?p=1715 British Summer Time (BST) commences today…hang on, what happened to Spring?

It’s a fair question. Spring is many people’s favourite season, but is sometimes overlooked by Summer as the weather tends to be better and summer holidays are booked to celebrate the end of winter. Moreover, why does BST start in Spring? According to the Met Office, this year’s Astronomical Spring runs from 20th March – 21st June, and the “meteorological” season of Spring are the months of March, April and May. So, by both definitions, BST does start in Spring. Confused? You should be.

What you shouldn’t be puzzled by is what men should wear this Spring (which, we’ve established, overlaps with BST…)

We can answer this in one short sentence: wear what you want (up to a point). Individualism doesn’t go out of fashion, and wearing what you feel like is a sign of confidence (just think back to Timmy Mallet in the 1980s – how confident was he? Mad, yes, but not shy). Plus, with a slice of luck, we’ll all emerge from the national lockdown like an over-hibernated Grizzly, eager to display our new clobber to friends we haven’t seen in months. No more lounging around the house sporting week-old stubble, wearing your favourite socks which have avoided the washing machine for days, and boxer shorts that have…OK, let’s not go there.

Spring 2021 should equal a national celebration, and there’s no reason why the ladies shouldn’t have the majority share of the fashion stakes. Coming out of lockdown means socialising again (even if it’s just with a permitted select few friends), so it’s the ideal time for men to shine. Spring is definitely not the time to wear scruffy tracksuits or moth-eaten jumpers. Be yourself, gents, but look smart!

Assuming the men among you want a few pointers on this Spring’s male trends, Models Direct has scanned several fashion outlets (both on online and print) to bring you some Spring fashion options. We’ve taken them from the latest promos and pop-ups, together with talking to a few “men about town” (granted, few and far between in the lockdown!)

  • Bermuda shorts – Usually a perennial favourite, these jolly-coloured beauties had dropped off the fashion radar, but will make a triumphant comeback this Spring.
  • Hawaiian shirts – Two-tone colours are the way forward for 2021, with floral designs sure to be a hit.
  • Cricket tops – To get you geared up for the summer, cricket jumpers will keep chaps up-to-date, even if rain does stop play.
  • Maroon trousers – Word on the street is that maroon is the colour to be seen in from the waist down.
  • Vertical stripes – These are not only ultra-stylish, they also encourage a slimmer physique, both in the upper body and in the leg department. Win-win!
  • Conceal bare ankles – Keep your manly ankles hidden (they are soooo 2019 anyway), and instead flaunt tasteful socks.
  • Sandals a “no-go” – They’re also a “no-no”. Ditch open-toed footwear and instead plump for old-school tennis-style pumps or low-cut trainers.
  • Cotton jackets – Lightweight for heavyweight fashionistas, cotton jackets are a sensible choice due to their longevity.
  • Plain denim shirts – Simply designed yet chic, you won’t go wrong strutting about in one of these shirts.
