And if we plan to introduce them to the world of modelling, we need to know they will be well looked after at all times.

So, with that in mind, Models Direct wants to highlight 10 of the most important things to understand in this guide to baby modelling.

1 Make sure you sign your baby up to a reputable, genuine agency. Models Direct has been working with tiny tots for over 30 years now. We are fully government-regulated and accredited and we treat all our beautiful baby models and their parents with the utmost care.

2 Read the feedback from the parents of baby models who have actually worked with an agency before deciding whether or not to put your own bouncing bundle of joy forward.

3 Take lots of lovely photos of your precious treasure, then fill in our form and send the pictures to us. One of our friendly team members will then be in touch.

4 Our agent will explain how important it is that you update your baby’s e-portfolio regularly. We and our clients need to be sure we are seeing the very latest photographs otherwise it might be hard to put your little one forward for assignments – after all, babies change so quickly!

5 Have a good understanding of how our process works: clients approach us for baby models, we offer them a suitable selection and they make the final choice. This does mean we cannot guarantee work to any of our beautiful baby models. But, the more diligent you are about maintaining their e-portfolio, the more likely it is that your little one will be selected for work.

6 If you’re offered an assignment, your point of contact at Models Direct will give you all the relevant information and keep you updated as the day approaches. You are very welcome to call them too if you have any questions or concerns.

7 You may well be offered refreshments on the day but take snacks and drinks for yourself, as well as everything your baby might need. Bring a few toys and books so you can keep your tot entertained when necessary. We will require you to be with your baby at all times.

8 The professional production crew on the day will be experienced at working with babies and will guide you and offer support as needed.

9 After the event, Models Direct will contact you, so you can tell us how you found the experience. We take all feedback on board and strive to improve at all times.

10 Our team will also ensure you are paid promptly. We hope you and your baby will enjoy modelling with us and that the fee you earn will be a welcome extra.

Models Direct’s Newborn Baby Models https://www.modelsdirect.org.uk/models-directs-newborn-baby-models/ Tue, 06 Aug 2024 07:28:00 +0000 https://www.modelsdirect.org.uk/?p=3868 There’s major cuteness overload in our MD modelling books, and it’s because of our newborn baby models.

Our UK modelling agency, Models Direct, covers a diverse range of modelling categories and newborns make up a huge part of the demand in the industry.

Aside from round-the-clock feeds, nappy changes, refreshing baby grows, looking for lost dummies, sterilising bottles and expressing milk, not to mention all those moments you haven’t gotten a wink of sleep, and running low on groceries, is it even possible to add anything else to the mix of early parenthood?

Fortunately, there is! If you have an extra pair of hands to help, there’s a form you can fill out on our website – open 24/7 – which will sign your bambino up as a Models Direct baby model. It’s seriously that simple! Your mini-me can already have a career before they hit 16, and you’ll be able to tell them all about it when they’re older. Of course, some baby models stay on in the industry and enjoy their time moving on as children, teens and then adult models.

Our agency doesn’t make the application process difficult because we know your beautiful bundle of joy is already keeping you on your toes! It’s a straightforward form with an image to attach of your baby.

Our team takes it from there. We do all the hard work for you so when it comes to supplying, recruiting and hiring our little cuties, it’s done behind the scenes at our HQ with our specialist team. If you do get the chance, all we ask is for you to not keep your babe’s amazing images just stored on your smartphone. Your ePortfolio is open to adding all those adorable snaps whenever you get the chance and increasing your newborn’s chance of obtaining a gig.

Alongside this, you can create a showreel once their modelling career is underway to further increase their opportunities. To be honest, who wouldn’t want to see a little one’s lovable showreel?

Do you have a newborn or know a new parent who might want to share their cherub’s smiles on more than just their device? Sign your baby up as a model with Models Direct, and we guarantee that you’ll enjoy being represented by us.

A Complete Guide to Baby Modelling https://www.modelsdirect.org.uk/a-complete-guide-to-baby-modelling/ Tue, 09 Apr 2024 07:14:00 +0000 https://www.modelsdirect.org.uk/?p=3500 Models Direct is on hand to always help our new and existing models and clients. Right here, our specialist modelling team will walk you through the world of baby modelling with our agency so you have a clearer idea of what life with us is like for your baby MD model.

Got a bambino who likes playing peek-a-boo, patty-cake or eyes, nose, mouth? Or maybe all three and some more? We’re so sure that your little one’s face lights up with the brightest and cutest smile whenever you play their favourite games, sign their favourite tune and spend precious time with them.

If you’re thinking of getting your newborn or infant into baby modelling then we’ve rounded up some of the most important points to consider when entering this industry. Let’s take a look:

Choose a fully vetted and government-regulated agency (like Models Direct)

If you’d prefer your baby to be represented by a modelling agency instead of going solo and doing the hard graft yourself, then looking for a reputable one with a proven track record of actively finding babies’ modelling assignments coupled with positive reviews from models and clients alike is essential.

You’ll find help is at hand with Models Direct and even though we never guarantee that your baby will have a steady flow of work, we do guarantee that we will always put them forward whenever our clients call for their look.

Submit the required application details

When you’ve chosen your modelling agency, the next step is to submit your baby’s details and photos. If you choose Models Direct, our registering-a-model online application form is easy and can be completed any time of the day. All you need to do is fill in your baby’s full name, date of birth, gender, parent/guardian’s full name, country of residence, email address, and telephone number and upload a recent headshot (captured in natural light with a neutral, distraction-free backdrop which is highly recommended).

Create a portfolio

Compiling a selection of images of your baby showcasing their different looks and expressions in the form of a portfolio is an important component of being a baby model. We have an online ePortfolio portal which you can access at any time to upload your baby’s images. Our agency will drop gentle reminders for you too.

We know that our clients always want to see recent images, as babies develop and grow so fast, when they request for samples of baby’s work so having a portfolio is a must-have model’s essential document.

Be prepared for short-notice assignments

Being prepped for an assignment at any point is important. Get a bag packed with spares of everything your little one would need on an adventure so that if and when the time arises, you’ll at least have most of the things they’ll need to hand in one place. Sometimes last-minute bookings need to happen and if you agree to go ahead then that bag will come in handy.

Keep up to date with the baby modelling industry

Go online and join baby modelling communities for greater insight, advice and support. Connecting with professionals and other baby model parents or guardians is an excellent means of increasing awareness and knowledge about the industry. It’s always good to be in the know and educate yourself as much as possible with the latest trends and events.

Understand the contract

Sometimes reading the fine print before signing the dotted line can be overlooked, although it really ought not to. Parents and guardians should always understand their baby’s contract and if in doubt, liaise with their agency to demystify queries and have honest and open discussions.

Appreciate the experience

Baby modelling should be a positive experience for both you and your baby. You’ll know if they’re ready for something like this if they’re content and happy to be in the company of others. Of course, you can experience the odd hiccup here and there – babies are after all babies. They have natural demands that need tending to but if they’re generally happy then baby modelling could be perfect for them.

Modelling should be a fun activity for baby and you, but prioritising your babe’s well-being over the pursuit of modelling success should always be the most important thing of all.

Babies feel more content when being held by their mums and equally mums feel happy when they are close to their little one. They’ll also get to do their assignments together and enjoy their time on wonderful projects

Models Direct have had some exceptional assignments that our mother and baby modelling pairs have been involved in such as Purflo and Pampers. Taking Photos of Your Toddler https://www.modelsdirect.org.uk/taking-photos-of-your-toddler/ Wed, 05 Oct 2022 15:06:13 +0000 https://www.modelsdirect.org.uk/?p=2198 Toddlers are ever so cute! They get up to the sweetest antics and busy themselves with understanding the world around them. There’s never a dull moment with a mini-me around, and we’re sure anyone who has a little one on their tiny feet all day has their smartphone on standby ready to take some memorable snaps. Sound like something you can relate to? Parents, guardians and family friends of toddler models will know just how important taking photos is. You’ll be filling your bambino’s ePortfolio up faster than you can say ready, set, go!

Being a model of any age entails being in front of the camera, surrounded by a busy team of makeup artists, production team, coordinators, directors and other models. It’s part of the job, and prepping them for this journey can begin with you taking creative images and getting them accustomed to the sound of your camera clicking and pointing at them. Preschoolers may need a bit more time since their understanding is building at an astronomical rate, and they’ll know (and let you know too) exactly what they like and what they don’t like!

Models Direct have a few handy tips on what the best photo-snapping practices are so that your inquisitive one can be camera-ready, or simply just comfortable around you taking photos.

1. Spontaneous pictures can be the best
Orchestrated images can be cute because the viewer can see you’ve tried, but overdoing it can backfire where a photo can appear unnatural. A lovely action shot of your baby toddler playing with their toys, tidying around the house, playing in the garden or even experiencing the great outdoors are just a few ideas to whip out the smartphone (making sure it’s fully charged and ready to go).

2. Uncluttered background
Keep your toddler’s surroundings as clean as possible as the aim of the picture is not to draw attention to the clutter behind the subject, and in this case, your infant. The focus always should be on your adorable little person.

3. Keep your mini-me clean
Clear away food splodges, crop grass stains out and keep it a dummy-free zone. Sometimes you can capture a really sweet image that’s not “perfect” so to speak because that’s life! But keep snapping and see which images are the best to put forward and take it from there. You never know, a not-so-perfect-pic in your opinion might be adored by many others.

4. Capture clear photos in well-lit areas
This is an obvious tip but we couldn’t resist adding it in. Ensure your images are clear and taken in well-lit surroundings so no shadows are overcast. The best images are those that are clean and clear so the viewer can capture the essence of a child’s personality and atmosphere.

We hope you found these tips useful and keep them in mind when taking awesome snaps of your gorgeous toddler model. If you’ve landed on this page and don’t have your bambino’s foot in the modelling door yet, you sure can fire it up by hitting the apply button right here. Get an application over to our modelling agency right now and see which assignments we can book for your preschooler. Imagine that? Don’t – just apply and see what we have in store for you.
