Smooth and Comfortable Transition
I was so nervous when I received my first photo shoot assignment for special teens programs! Since I hadn’t modelled before, I wasn’t sure what to do and my nervousness only increased on the day of the shoot. However, I was so amazed at how helpful everyone was at Models Direct and how much they worked to set me at ease. Within a very short time, I felt extremely comfortable and began to enjoy making the various poses and expressions which seemed to come more effortlessly as the shoot progressed. The photographer was super at giving me tips and not making me feel stupid. I highly recommend Models Direct as their professional talent management helps to prepare the way for aspiring models to enjoy a smooth transition into the field of modelling!

A Princess Is Born!
Our daughter Abby has always been the princess type who enjoys dressing up and sneaking into mother’s makeup bag when the chance arises. She is always gazing over the beautiful model photos in the magazines and expressing how lovely the ladies are on the telly. When I came across the advert for Models Direct, my husband and I decided to inquire about talent management for our daughter. In no time, we received Abby’s first assignment modelling for an upcoming summer clothing line. We were a bit apprehensive at first, but once we arrived at the site of the photo shoot all fears subsided. Everyone at Models Direct was gracious, answered any questions we had and worked wonderfully with Abby who beamed with excitement at her chance to show the world she was, indeed, a princess! We highly recommend Models Direct for child modelling opportunities that expose young people to the joys of an adventurous career.

Live fashion

The team at Models Direct were recently invited, along with the rest of the world, by Burberry to celebrate the city of London, through three live shows held all at once. Blurring the lines between digital and physical, the famous British fashion brand brought the event from the Hyde Park catwalk to the world, via a live recording which was streamed online.

Models Direct spoke with Christopher Bailey, the Chief Creative Officer of Burberry about the event. He remarked that the last twelve months in London had been incredible, and the shows were a way for the brand to celebrate the ‘distinctively British’ combination of innovation, craft and design found in this city. Bailey went on to say that Burberry wanted people from around the world to share in the experience of the show, to bring a smile to their face, whatever country they happened to be in.

More than 1500 guest attended the Burberry Womenswear, Spring/Summer 2013 show, which was held at a custom built catwalk in the middle of Hyde Park. According to Models Direct, the show featured Florence Brudenell Bruce, Julia Roitfield, Tali Lennox, Suki Waterhouse and Laura Bailey. But for those who were unable to attend, Burberry.com managed to bring all of the facets of the live shows to audiences across the globe.

The team working at Models Direct were able to use their smartphones to watch the shows, and the Spring/Summer collections in more detail than they ever had before. When they visited the brand’s website, they were able to enjoy the Burberry World show section of the site, by connecting through the brand’s Facebook page and unlocking customised content.

In addition to being broadcast online, Models Direct say that the show was also streamed on one of the world’s tallest retails screens, on Regent Street, where approximately 500 people stood and watched the show from outside the Burberry flagship store. On top of this, the three shows were linked across an online social steam, which integrated content in real-time from the event in London to Instagram and Twitter.

Hilary’s first assignment was for a holiday park photography shoot with two other models – she and the others were photographed taking part in the park’s various activities for the company brochure. Although she was initially nervous, Hilary found the experience at Models Direct to be fantastic – she and the other models, Marc and Herb got along well and the photographer put them at ease straight away. For the shoot itself, Hilary had to be photographed cycling, relaxing with a drink, and walking along the beach with her ‘husband’, the other male model. Hilary remarked that the whole day was surprisingly relaxed, and she soon found herself comfortable in front of the camera. She had joined Models Direct because she had wanted to take part in work which was entirely different from her former day job at an office, and has said that as a result how much she enjoyed her first shoot, she is eager to work on more assignments in the future. Hilary also added that the work had done wonders for her confidence, and that she was very glad of the opportunity to meet new people and take part in such an interesting job.

Rebecca had a similarly positive experience with her assignment for Models Direct. She found the photographer to be warm and very professional, which helped to ease her initial nerves. Rebecca had taken part in informal photo shoots before, but because this was her first job with Models Direct, she did feel slightly apprehensive before the shoot. However she soon found herself feeling relaxed and confident in front of the camera, and is now eager to take part in further assignments. The shoot itself was set in a room with a little stage on the centre, and cameras set up from several different angles – there were three clothing changes in total. Taking part in this type of work was a dream of Rebecca’s for a long time, and she was delighted to find that she genuinely enjoyed the experience
