Success Stories – Models Direct https://www.modelsdirect.org.uk Models Direct modelling agency has been bringing models and clients together since 1990. Welcome to the Models Direct business blog. Remember – commercial models are totally different from fashion models. You can read more about suitability of commercial models here, which explains the differences between commercial and fashion models.

Whilst there are certain restrictions to high-end fashion modelling, the diversity in commercial modelling is evident. We do not specialise in any type of model. Commercial models encompass everyone, from toddlers to mature models, males and females from all backgrounds. The one attribute for commercial models is that they must be dedicated to their assignments, from regularly updating their portfolio photos to representing themselves (and us) on set. The rest usually takes care of itself.

Some people fare better in modelling jobs than others. Not everyone is suitable for all our jobs. Age and gender are key factors, but thankfully modelling experience is not required. That’s equally critical, as it shows that anyone with the desire to become a Models Direct model can succeed.

What’s also important is knowing the range of different types of models we’re always interested to hear from. Some agencies specialise in plus size modelling, while others mainly have females on their lists. Some will have more of an emphasis on pets.

We’ve been the UK’s leading commercial modelling employment agency for a number of years, and we put all our effort into each booking, no matter what type of model we’re representing.

And which different types of models are we experts at putting forward to our numerous clients, giving them the best chance of being seen and ultimately being offered their dream commercial modelling job?

Here’s the list of the main types:

Commercial modelling – diversity is the key here, with commercial modelling appealing to everyone. We are always interested to hear from anyone with the desire to work with top brands all over the UK and abroad. Commercial modelling is totally accessible, well paid and fun. Read more about commercial modelling here.

Mature modelling – age is not a limitation. Instead, embrace your wealth of life experience by signing up with us and uncovering plenty of modelling jobs as a mature model.

Baby, child and teenager modelling – modelling is not just for adults. We’ve provided our clients with hundreds of youngsters in exciting shoots (accompanied by their parents and guardians, naturally). Babies are usually classed as infants up to two years of age, child models are up to the age of twelve, and the age of teen models should be self-explanatory. The range of assignments on offer for children is limitless; all we ask is that they are well behaved and have fun in a safe environment.

Pet modelling – perennially popular with several clients, household animals of all shapes, sizes and breeds are always welcome!

Plus size modelling – for those with a fuller figure, there are many chances to be seen by our clients. For the past few years, we’ve experienced a surge in plus size modelling, so we welcome anyone to join us and have the best chance to be selected by top brands looking to appeal to the public.

We cater for anyone and everyone – and it starts with having the desire to become a model. After that, registering with means we’ll show our clients what you have to offer!

Is modelling competitive? https://www.modelsdirect.org.uk/is-modelling-competitive/ Thu, 30 Jan 2025 09:49:02 +0000 https://www.modelsdirect.org.uk/?p=4235 Unfortunately, the answer is yes.

We’ve grown rapidly since we started the business in 1990, and that growth has resulted from a rapid increase in both clients and models. This is beneficial for everyone, because more clients mean more modelling opportunities. But that doesn’t mean that every model who registers with us will be inundated with offers of modelling assignments.

The good news, however, is that joining a reputable agency remains the best way for models of all ages and backgrounds to be put forward to the decision makers: the clients.

We’ve never said commercial modelling isn’t competitive. There has always been competition for jobs – just like in every industry sector. Joining Models Direct makes it much easier for models of any experience to be seen by our clients, who then inform us which models they’d like to work with them.

Any model could approach a brand directly. There’s nothing stopping a model contacting a company and asking if they need models for advertising campaigns. The chances of that model merely speaking to the right person are slim; moreover, even if they do find the right person to talk to, communication would invariably stop right there, with the company telling the hopeful model that they only find models with their preferred agency.

Agencies develop a trusting relationship with their clients. It’s another solid reason for models to join a good agency. The chances of securing work with an agency significantly increase with an agency working on a model’s behalf. The reality is that, although we place hundreds of models per week in exciting modelling jobs, some models might not be chosen by the clients, even though they are a perfect match, and we put them forward whenever their talents are called for.

But the plus for models is that they can – and should – help themselves. We do everything we can to find our clients the right models for their specific assignments. It’s what we do, and we’re extremely proficient at doing it. Here’s a quick checklist of how models can increase their chances of being chosen by clients:

1. If any contact details have changed since you last registered with us, please ensure that they have been updated on your personal Models Direct portfolio.

2. Just as important, be sure to add fresh photos and reels to your portfolio. This is especially vital if you’ve changed your look. If you’ve had a new haircut or treated yourself to a fresh tattoo, don’t hold back! Take a few up-to-date photos and upload them to your portfolio. Make sure you stand out! Alternatively, if your current portfolio doesn’t include more niche images (e.g. in gym gear for any fitness modelling gigs), be sure to add them. We have plenty of jobs available requiring specific models for specific assignments. We’re not a generic modelling talent agency…

3. Keep up to date with the commercial modelling industry, and be proactive.

4. Don’t be shy in contacting us if you need any assistance. Our team are here to help all models, and we invite anyone to visit us in Norwich by appointment.

Any Models Direct model is in the best place to be seen by all kinds of brands who are actively seeking new talent for their campaigns. Keep at it, and keep the faith!

How do I know if I am suitable for modelling? https://www.modelsdirect.org.uk/how-do-i-know-if-i-am-suitable-for-modelling-2/ Sat, 25 Jan 2025 09:50:09 +0000 https://www.modelsdirect.org.uk/?p=4237 Commercial modelling is extremely accessible for anyone with the desire to put their skills to good use, working with our clients and various marketing agencies who oversee modelling shoots. The question of how people know if they’re suitable for commercial modelling can be answered easily: if you’re already thinking about it, you are suitable. It’s as simple as that. But that doesn’t mean you’re ready to be one.

Suitability for commercial modelling encompasses everyone from any background and experience. Consider the following models our clients regularly ask us to provide them:

  • Babies and toddlers
  • Children
  • Teenagers
  • Adults
  • Mature models
  • People living with disabilities
  • Individuals described as “plus size” in some circles
  • Males and females
  • Oh…and pets of all species!

There may be some specific assignments which call for models of a particular ethnicity or look, such as showing off tattoos or opportunities for wheelchair users. But in general, we’re always on the lookout for anyone with the desire to become a commercial model, and the process starts with a simple  registration.

We touched on the fact that that some would-be models might not be ready to become a Models Direct model, no matter how much the desire might be. That’s because we recommend that they research a little about us and how we operate. Additionally, they mustn’t apply with us without knowing some basic tips. Researching some aspects of our industry is just as important as performing well once you’ve been picked for your first shoot.

Although we’ll provide all the essential information and be available to answer queries ahead of a shoot, models need to be well prepared to make their modelling life that little bit easier. Preparation is key, and shouldn’t be underestimated.

Remaining calm, professional and confident are also key qualities for all our commercial models. If you thrive by taking directions from someone in a professional environment, whilst having fun and keeping to professional levels, you’ll fit in nicely with our extensive list of models.

Nerves are normal. Being filmed or photographed is not everyone’s ideal job, but for our models it’s perfect. Our clients know that everyone involved in the assignment must work together to produce the desired result, and so our models constantly tell us how relaxed everyone is on set, and how much relaxed they are made to feel.

Simone’s feedback for her second assignment with us is a perfect example. She said, “I had a great experience at my shoot at Leeds University. It was an amazing opportunity to get to go to a new city and the other models were very friendly, which calmed my nerves and made the experience more enjoyable. The environment was very relaxed, and the shoot consisted of a variety of stills and video. Staff were also very nice and informative throughout the shoot. I very much look forward to my next booking!”

Suitability for a lot of our bookings is about staying relaxed, enjoying the experience, and being keen to bag more opportunities to shine with our clients.

Prior modelling experience is absolutely not required.

Take the first step and register your details with us. After that, our lovely team at Models Direct HQ will do the rest!

Modelling in 2025 https://www.modelsdirect.org.uk/modelling-in-2025/ Mon, 06 Jan 2025 09:51:23 +0000 https://www.modelsdirect.org.uk/?p=4239 We’ve made huge strides since beginning our operations in 1990.

As another year passes, we strive to remain at the forefront of commercial modelling as an agency with everything to offer – both to our models and our clients who rely on us to supply them with the best talent.

We expect modelling with us in 2025 to be even better than that in previous years.

But what do we mean by “better”? It’s a word that has many meanings, and opinions can differ as to what “better” actually implies. No one can predict the future, so it’d be arrogant to say that everything in the world is going to be better in the new year. But in terms of modelling, we’re excited at the prospects 2025 can offer our models.

Modelling in 2025 may very well present some real benefits to our models that can be seen as “better” than the previous years.

Like we say, the previous years (decades, even) have seen substantial growth for us. We work with far more clients year-on-year, and we are able to offer more wonderful modelling assignments to our registered models. We don’t really need to advertise to big name brands, because they come to us whenever they require models to help them in their marketing campaigns and in their advertising needs. We’ve built up an incomparable reputation and our clients trust us to meet their needs. It’s a great two-way relationship.

As a model in 2025, what can you expect?

If you’re thinking about modelling for the first time with us, you should know that you’re in the best possible position to be put forward to our clients. The brands we work range from multinationals and high street retailers to smaller start-ups. They all have one common thing when they approach us: they know that we have the perfect models for their needs. If you’re curious about modelling, you won’t be in a better place to be seen by the brands crying out for models. That’s what makes our team tick.

Maybe 2025 will be the year you take modelling seriously and join our team of models. Maybe it’s on your bucket list – even if you’re happy with a solitary job. Maybe it’s not about you at all; you may be thinking that your beloved pet is on the right track to become one of our next Starpets. Whatever your reasons, you’ll joining the right agency.

For our models who have enjoyed jobs with us, what will modelling in 2025 bring?

Well, we’re confident that all our models can expect the following:

1. To be put forward to our clients for even more modelling opportunities when your look and skills are called for.

2. An increase to our already extensive client list.

3. Even more diverse jobs.

4. More travel opportunities.

We’re always looking for ways to make things “better”. Whether that’s placing even more models with top-notch brands, or receiving more 5 star reviews than ever, we’re looking forward to what 2025 will bring us, our models and our clients.

How much can I earn as a model? https://www.modelsdirect.org.uk/how-much-can-i-earn-as-a-model/ Fri, 20 Dec 2024 10:00:14 +0000 https://www.modelsdirect.org.uk/?p=4173 Unsurprisingly, this is a question that we at Model Direct are frequently asked – but unfortunately, there is no single answer to it!

Firstly, we always respond to our models and would-be models, telling them that they WILL get paid.

This is in a marked difference to many of the so-called agencies who either expect you to work for nothing, claiming “this will give you valuable experience” or never actually getting around to paying you.

Yes, we hear about this happening time and time again…

Models Direct is a fully government-registered employment agency.

We operate within the law at all times – and we are experienced, professional and reliable.

This is why we are always happy to be inspected by the government; why our clients return to us time and time again and why our models stay with us.

If you join us as a model, we will be your agent.

We will negotiate your fee on your behalf, discuss it with you before you accept any job and then ensure you are paid swiftly after completing any assignment with us.

How does that sound?

Well, now to the exact amount you are likely to be paid…

Well, this depends on a variety of different factors from how experienced a model is to the amount of time they will be required in front of the camera.

You may be taking part in a day’s shoot where you are needed for one hour or a five-day shoot where you are required for every shot.

Your role may be a simple walk-on part or much more acting may be required and there may be lines to say.

You may have to travel to the shoot (all expenses paid) or it may be right on your doorstep in your home town.

All these factors will be taken into account when we negotiate the fee with the client – and then you can decide whether you are prepared to carry out the assignment for that sum.

Read reviews from our models to see if they feel happy with both the work we offer and the fee negotiated on their behalf.

Here are just a few of them…

Terry said:

“I have just finished a fun photo shoot for the Salisbury group. The views across London were amazing and the crew were even better.

“I always know when I get an assignment from Models Direct that it will run smoothly and we will get paid on time!

“I am a massive fan. Bring on the next job!”

And Beau said:

“My two children loved their first paid photoshoot yesterday.

“All staff were professional, friendly, approachable and thoughtful.

“The communication we received from Models Direct prior to the shoot was faultless.

“The studio and staff exceeded my expectations – toys, snacks and drinks were provided for the children, and the atmosphere was so relaxed.

“They really enjoyed themselves and earned money in the process!

“We are really hopeful for more bookings to follow.

“Thank you Models Direct.”

Tapuwa also felt the work was fairly rewarded:

“I had my first shoot with Models Direct yesterday and I had so much fun.

“It was an all-day shoot for a pretty exclusive client and I’m glad I was part of it.

“I even made a new friend and it’s well paid too!”

To find out more about modelling with us, including the kinds of assignments you might be offered and how we will pay you, fill in our form and we will call you for a chat.

How to Look Like You’re Properly Laughing in a Photo https://www.modelsdirect.org.uk/how-to-look-like-youre-properly-laughing-in-a-photo/ Mon, 11 Nov 2024 09:55:12 +0000 https://www.modelsdirect.org.uk/?p=4093 It might seem like a simple thing to do but genuinely laughing on cue can be tricky. Hands up anyone who feels the same. Plenty of our Models Direct models, be they teen models or senior models, can be asked by our clients to have a giggle on set for a photoshoot or filming.

Showcasing a genuine laugh can ooze authenticity and make the atmosphere feel natural and authentic. If though, like most people, you find it a bit of a challenge to do so, here are some tips to help you:

Recall something funny

An obvious suggestion, we know, but an important one nevertheless! You can place yourself in a moment that makes you crack up. It could be a funny memory, a joke, something someone did or just something that always seems to make you laugh no matter how hard you try not to.

Relax!

When you might be asked to laugh on cue, you might find your facial muscles and body tensing up. Sounds familiar? Don’t worry, you’re not the only one! Genuinely laughing on cue is a skill and it’s easier said than done particularly if you’re feeling anxious…but try to relax.

Take care of yourself

Be sure to stay hydrated and to have had something to eat, albeit a small snack, so you don’t feel dizzy in front of the camera. This can happen quite often especially when our models are feeling nervous and would prefer to take on the day on an empty stomach. Take some deep breaths and go for it.

If you’re finding it difficult to relax, you can always speak to your MD coordinator [honestly, you won’t be the first to express butterflies in your stomach]. We’re trained to help you navigate through your modelling assignment as successfully as possible, helping to make it a positively memorable experience for you.

We’ve assembled a mini collection of model reviews where our talent has also expressed their pre-assignment nervousness, but where it’s all ended perfectly!

Jackie expressed her experience with our agency on a Nat West Bank campaign right here:

“Today was a big day for me. My first ever modelling assignment – and for Nat West Bank! I left home feeling excited but nervous about what to expect. It turned out to be a perfect fun day. Stephen Rawlinson and his team greeted me on arrival. They were all very friendly and immediately settled my nerves. I met the four other models I would be working with and found them to be really nice people. We did a mix of photos and filming throughout the day and it all went well. Thank you Nat West for a great first assignment.

Thanks, Molly for all your help. Looking forward to the next one!”

Anne left us this lovely and inspiring testimonial:

“I’ve just completed my first modelling job for Models Direct. Who’d have believed I’d be a model at 57 years old? I was quite nervous when I arrived in the car park but with such a friendly relaxed atmosphere, I had lost my nerves before we started shooting. The lovely team helped me every step of the way and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I look forward hopefully to many more jobs.”

Finally, our male model, Joshua, shared his experience with us:

“My First Shoot With Models Direct…

Yesterday was my first assignment with Models Direct, being a promotional shoot for Greene King Brewery. With it being my first shoot I was a little nervous, but everyone there was so lovely and we were certainly very well looked after, diffusing any nerves that I had. Overall, it was a lot of fun, it was a great atmosphere and I met so many lovely people. Additionally, Gemma had been amazing throughout the whole process, answering any questions I had and keeping me well-informed. Thank you for the experience.”

There’s more for you to read if you head over to our reviews section to see how our models have got on with their gigs.

Bottom line

Try not to overthink the process but do practise laughing on cue in your own time. The more you practise the better you’ll be at laughing naturally. However, if nerves get the better of you, do not worry as our MD team understands that being in front of the camera can be a nerve-wracking experience even for the most experienced of models.

Just reach out to us and we’ll be on hand to help you through, but most of all, try and have fun and enjoy the modelling experience!

Mature models https://www.modelsdirect.org.uk/mature-models-4/ Thu, 22 Aug 2024 10:29:59 +0000 https://www.modelsdirect.org.uk/?p=3853 “Mature” is a lovely word, isn’t it? It evokes charm, sophistication, and experience, which all our mature models have in abundance. No wonder they have consistently been in demand since we started Models Direct back in 1990.

Mature models have always been popular, although you can never have too much of a good thing. Many modelling assignments call for mature models to get their message across. We’ve seen countless examples of mature models being recognised for their talents, from working for residential care homes to holiday parks. Whenever a big brand needs a model in their prime of life, they invariably to us to provide them with the best talent on offer. We’ve always had a successful relationship with our clients because they can rely on us to recommend exactly what they’re craving for. Our mature models certainly know they’ve joined the right team when they register their interest.

Opportunities for mature models continue to increase. We consider any model over the age of 40 years a mature model, and they’re instrumental in appealing to audiences of similar ages, or in a wide range of family modelling jobs. One of the benefits of commercial modelling is that there are chances for just about anyone, so mature models don’t get left out. In fact, the rise in mature models is not that surprising. We can come to some conclusions why models with a lot of life experience are popular:

  1. Some assignments only require mature models because of the target audience. Whilst other models have the same talent and ambition, some briefs specifically need older models to see the job through from start to completion. Need an example? Look no further than the Aviva retirement campaign video, which appeared on the company’s website. Seen by a potential 30 million customers, this one really hit the mark.
  2. Mature models often have more spare time on their hands as they turn their thoughts to retirement. Modelling is a fantastically fun way to earn money and make friends; some of our models consider it a hobby, accepting jobs only when they have the time. Whatever works for our models is fine with us.
  3. As we have the largest range of vetted clients on our books, the odds of mature models finding ideal roles soar. The NHS, famous banks and pension schemes all need older models, and this trend seems likely to remain.
  4. In general, mature modelling is slightly less competitive than other genres.

Stigmas in modelling have largely disappeared due to an increase in awareness and inclusivity. Mature models have never been stigmatised, though modelling was perhaps seen as something only younger talent could be involved in.

We never thought that, and our judgment has been confirmed by the rise in mature models year-on-year.

We welcome applications from enthusiastic and dedicated mature models – it could be the best thing you’ll do this year. As dictated by the demand from clients, we always need mature models so you’ve got nothing to lose and everything to gain.

What to take on your first model booking https://www.modelsdirect.org.uk/what-to-take-on-your-first-model-booking/ Sun, 28 Jul 2024 07:47:00 +0000 https://www.modelsdirect.org.uk/?p=3804 First experiences are usually exciting and nerve-wracking in equal measure. It could be a job interview, a driving test, a long-haul flight or a blind date. Either way, it’s the feeling of the unknown that is most likely to stir the emotions. Modelling is no different, although we’re sure that a first assignment will be more enjoyable than a job interview and often more successful than a first date.

We’ll split this blog into two parts: emotionally and practically.

Emotionally, models take with them several different feelings – all of which are perfectly natural. No one has ice in their veins; nerves can strike at any time even in the most confident of souls. We wouldn’t be human if that wasn’t the case.

So, models need to take three essential emotions on their first model booking:

  1. Confidence. Having the ability to know you’re the right person for the job is something that’s not as easy to acquire as it sounds. We’re not talking about arrogance. We’re talking about eliminating negativity and backing your own merits. Remember – we recommend models to our clients because we think they’ll be perfect for the role. Clients, though, always choose their preferred model. So, if you are picked, you’re the client’s ideal candidate, so models should have faith in their modelling ability. You’ve made great strides by being selected, so embrace it.

2.   Nerves. Everyone knows the “butterflies in the stomach” sensation. Adrenaline is released in times of stress, meaning blood pressure and heart rate is increased, sending more blood to the muscles. This perfectly natural, of course, where you body responds to anxiety. Nerves can work in your favour: they can concentrate the mind and prepare you for action. Perfect for your first booking.

3.   Excitement. Securing your first booking is a proud moment. Models should be excited about meeting new people, succeeding on set, and looking forward to future bookings.

Practically speaking, models must concentrate on a few essentials. Above all, they should be prepared and have read through our brief we receive from clients. Here are the all-important tips:

1.   Make sure you have the client’s name, main contact, address and phone number before setting off. If you think you’re missing some essential information, please speak to our team prior to the booking.

2.   If the brief requires you to bring specific clothing (e.g. tie or black dress to portray formality, jeans and trainers for an outdoor shoot), take two pairs of each.

3.   Take make-up if you wish, although you may not be required to use it.

4.   Water is essential…

5.   …As is having a fully charged phone.

6.   If your baby has been chosen, don’t forget nappies, wipes, food, toys and spare clothes.

7. Our pet models are always very popular. Take all their creature comforts as you would if taking them away for a few days: bedding, toys, water bowls etc. We want all animals to be as comfortable as possible.

8. Consider the time of year. If the forecast is dreary, take a decent waterproof coat; likewise, take suncream and a hat on summer assignments, even if the job is inside – you may feel hot and bothered even just walking a few minutes to the location.

Find more information here on your first booking with us – the first of many we hope!

Everyday models – we need you! https://www.modelsdirect.org.uk/everyday-models-we-need-you/ Sun, 30 Jun 2024 10:41:38 +0000 https://www.modelsdirect.org.uk/?p=3908 Isn’t it great to be wanted?

It’s even better to be wanted for being you without any gimmicks or bravado. Thousands of Models Direct models feel the same way, and fortunately they are wanted daily for being themselves in front of a camera.

Our everyday models sometimes must pretend to be someone else; they may have to adopt poses and recreate scenes and characters. Ultimately, though, they are chosen by our clients because of their natural looks, and their talent.

Everyday models are confident individuals with looks that are aimed at the general population. Forget the high-end fashion magazines and giddy visions of catwalks; the brands that approach us for models do so because they know we have the range of everyday looks that will help advertising assignments hit the mark.

Our clients reflect the demand for everyday commercial models.

They, too, are varied, with aspirations of developing high quality visual or filmed content for their marketing needs. Our clients include trusted financial companies and high street retail brands, notable charities and leisure companies all searching for the finest models with the desire to go that extra yard in helping them make show-stopping material. What’s more – you can easily be involved as an everyday model.

At the time of writing, the UK’s economy is a little healthier than it was a few months ago. Good news for everyone, although the commercial modelling industry is largely unaffected by such ups-and-downs. Brands constantly look to introduce new products and to improve current ones, so the demand for photographers, marketing experts and models is always high. It’s one of the reasons why we flourished during Covid times, and why we could place a huge amount of modelling talent with our clients.

Now, with the economy once again on-the-up, it’s never been a better time for prospective models to give themselves the very best chance of being recommended to clients – and that starts with joining a reputable modelling employment agency with the resources and expertise to cope with the increasing demand.

It’s not just a passing comment that we need everyday models. We know this because of the number of jobs that our clients come to us to fill. Our team is inundated with jobs from companies that require models well in advance of the assignment, or sometimes at the last minute. Either way, the demand remains high, and models need to give themselves the best chance of being seen by clients.

Everyday models don’t have to have “everyday” looks. Quirky features that stand out can elevate a photo shoot, and models of diversity remain highly sought-after. Everyday models are the epitome of commercial modelling, appealing to a wide range of consumers.

When you apply with us, you’ll be wanted by our clients. This is a fact, although we always say it’s never a guarantee to be picked by clients. It’s their decision, but thankfully we’re experts at knowing which types of models our clients are looking for.  That model could be you!

What are the different model types? https://www.modelsdirect.org.uk/what-are-the-different-model-types/ Mon, 17 Jun 2024 09:20:00 +0000 https://www.modelsdirect.org.uk/?p=3652 Like any industry, modelling encompasses a wide variety of different areas.

So, before you decide whether or not to try modelling yourself, it may be worth considering what you are interested in.

Models Direct has been in the business for 30 years now and mostly specialises in offering its female, male, child and pet models part-time work.

Those who accept assignments through us for our wide range of well-known clients could be helping to promote products and services in almost any area, from fashion and beauty to sports, homeware, banking, insurance and holidays.

We offer work to models of all ages, levels of experience, backgrounds, heritages and abilities.

We require plus-size, curvy, tall and petite models for assignments, as well as couples and families.

Our models accept a variety of assignments for different types of model.

Here are a few examples :

Fashion models

Fashion models are men, women and children are asked to model items of clothing and footwear. This might be at a live event, such as on a catwalk or at a fashion show or for a photo or film shoot.

Lifestyle models

Lifestyle models are also sometimes known as “everyday models.” Our clients need real people to represent genuine members of the public in their advertising and promotions. Models Direct therefore requires a broad selection of different individuals to undertake lifestyle modelling.

Commercial models

Like lifestyle models, commercial models may be employed to promote everything from high street and supermarket products to healthcare, travel and entertainment. They are often photographed or filmed enjoying the product or service in question – or they are simply pictured as content individuals leading the type of life the rest of us aspire to .

Promotional models

Promotional modelling is a live form of advertising and brand awareness. Our promotional models attend a specific event or location to help draw attention to a specific product or service. They might have to chat to members of the public, hand out leaflets and perhaps dress in a particular colour or branded outfit.

Fitting models

This is another form of live modelling – but without an audience! Fitting models are used by a clothing designer or manufacturer to check the sizes, shape and style of a garment. Fitting models have to try the item on and stand still while it is assessed and adjusted.

Fitness and sports models

Fitness modelling is where clients request a particularly sporty or fit-looking model who looks as though they may well indulge in the specific sport or form of exercise being promoted. These models may be modelling sportswear or equipment.

Bridal models

As we all know, weddings are big business these days and so Models Direct is frequently asked for models to pose as happy couples. Bridal models can be used to promote any products or services that might be associated with a wedding – and the photo or film shoot may well also involve other models who step into the role of other members of the wedding party.

Parts models

Parts models are male and female models who are employed for specific parts of their body – perhaps their hair, hands, feet or nails. They might have especially striking, attractive or unusual parts of the body that may be suitable for close-up photography. They may be employed to advertise footwear, jewellery or hair products, for example. Many parts models also undertake other kinds of modelling too.

If you are interested in a particular area of modelling, then fill in our form, send us a photo and tell us what you are keen to focus on.
